Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020

Y’all! The moment is here… the shopping olympics, aka the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, is finally here!!! It’s time to get your game face on, and score some deals!

Going into this sale can be somewhat overwhelming, but no need to stress… I’ve done the pre-game work for you! I have scoured the online previews, and have narrowed down my top picks from what I’m seeing online!

Tops:

I’ve noticed Tie Dye is not going away for fall, and to be honest, my little 70’s-loving soul is HERE for it!! I am also loooving that Free people sweater. I scored one similar, from last year’s sale, and I wear it all the time! I linked a long-lined top from Free people in two colors, black and green. It looks like a great staple piece, with many ways to mix it up! The knotted back, waffle knit top looks so cute to me. I love the knot detail, and can’t wait to check that out in person. Last, I obviously had to throw in a couple of graphic tees, or it wouldn’t feel right-lol!!

Jeans/ bottoms:

Frame flares are back for another Nordy sale! They are one of my favorite pairs of jeans I’ve ever snagged.. sooo flattering on, and extremely comfortable! I get compliments on them anywhere I go! I have been lusting after those distressed free people skinnies since last year, but they sold out super quick, so I’m hoping to snag a pair this year!! The Mother frayed hem jeans caught my eye. I love the cropped flare, just an overall cool look. The white cropped denim is so fun for the end of summer, and such a great price, only $35! Now for the Spanx! This is the best time to get a pair because you get them at such a great price! Trust me, they’re worth it! As for skirts, I linked that Faux patent mini skirtbecause the color is too cool, and who doesn’t love a fun little mini?? I also HAD to include the suede BLANK NYC mini skirt! Afterall, it was my most shopped item from the sale last year!

Jackets and coats

First thing that caught my eye was that starry stunner! Its just too good not to highlight! Next, that deep green coat with a classic silhouette becomes a little edgy with the subtle black stars. Such a cool look! If you’re going for a leather jacket this year, the two ALLSAINTS jackets above are winners. A little higher priced, but still great deal on high-quality jackets, and they will be staple pieces you’ll wear on repeat. I linked a plaid blazer because I firmly believe every girl needs on for fall 😉. Then I also linked a long “dad coat” because I love the look, and this price 👌🏼.

Shoes and Handbags

The nude, croc embossed, heels are giving me suuuch 90’s vibes and I’m swooning! Same with the black strappy sandals with gold buckles. Both pair of heels are so chic, and completely stood out to me amongst the other heels in the sale. As for these two bags, I have heart-eyes over the stunning orange. The army green leopard print bag is perfect to carry everyday, and stands out among the average handbag, with an edgy feel and fun pop of color! The citrus color Frame bag has such a unique silhouette, and would make the perfect statement bag to any fall wardrobe. You could easily carry it in spring as well, which is a win in my book!

EXTRAS:

I wanted to highlight a few other things! First, this is a great time to load up on Commando and Hanky Panky undies, while they’re on major sale! Also, wanted to share this cute PJ set because lets face it, we are most likely looking at time at home this fall and why not be cute and cozy! Last, Le Labo fragrances are my ABSOLUTE fav, and they are offering two of their most popular scents for pretty much, the same price as one travel-sized perfume. They are a unisex scent, and I can assure you that you will love them.

I will be shopping the sale in-person come Friday morning, and I will give my opinions on the items when I see them in person, and let you know my absolute top picks from the sale! Happy shopping everyone! I can’t wait to see your picks!!

Stephi

The Blazer Edit

The Blazer Edit

What is the must-have item for spring?? A good blazer!!! Whether you live in colder, or warmer weather, you can rock this trend. One thing to give an outfit a chic feel is to create layers. A blazer is the perfect way to do it!

There are so many ways to rock a good blazer:

  1. Throw it over a band tee and some edgy leggings, or a pencil skirt. This creates a more pulled-together look that could take you to from a day at the office, to social engagement, or dinner out!
  2. Put it with jeans and a basic tee for an effortlessly chic vibe.
  3. Here I put it over a faux leather body suit and mini skirt, giving an edgy/sexy  outfit for a date night out. IMG_7402
  4. You can dress up your everyday t-shirt dress with throwing a colorful blazer on, adding a springy element.IMG_3231

Even if you live in a hotter climate.. throw one over your shoulders to add that finishing touch of chick to your outfit!

Frozen Margarita Recipe

Frozen Margarita Recipe

I don’t mean to brag, but I’m known far and wide (among my friends) for being THE best frozen drink maker in all the land. With cinco de mayo rapidly approaching, I figured that I would finally share how I make my frozen margaritas!

This is a no frills, NOT diet-friendly recipe, but it will please the taste buds, and have you feeling like dancing for sure!! 😜

Ingredients: IMG_2934

(makes about 4)

  • 1 can of frozen minute made Lime concentrate (most important ingredient)
  • Tequila ( I use Espolon silver)
  • A beer of choice (Honestly, I usually use Coors or Miller light).
  • Ice

Recipe:

Pour the entire can of frozen Limeade into the blender. Then fill that can about an inch from the top with Tequila. IMG_2935Pour that tequila right on in that blender. Fill blender with ice. Then pour beer over the mixture until about an inch below the ice. Now put the lid on and hit liquify on that blender. You want to blend for at least one minute in order to not get ice chunks into the mixture. Nobody wants to deal with ice chunks, am I right? We need that nice smooth consistency. Now pour it into your glass and enjoy 🙂

**If your margarita is a little to watery.. add a few more cubes of ice onto the top and re-blend. Each blender is a little different, so sometimes you have to finagle the ice/beer ratio 😂.

The Vintage Edit

The Vintage Edit

Something that really gets me excited, when it comes to fashion, is a good Vintage find! There is nothing like that feeling of finding a great piece from a previous generation, that can be effortlessly worked into your current wardrobe.

What started my love of vintage? My grandma Susan’s jewelry collection. I always remember her as being so fashionable, and her biggest passion was jewelry. I wear her bracelets all of the time, and they’ve become the most treasured pieces of my wardrobe. When I started noticing the joy it brought me to wear something from the past, that fits so perfectly in the present.. I started branching out to explore more vintage shops!

Where to begin?

I think some of you appreciate vintage, but just have no idea where to start. Here are my tips for how to shop vintage:

First, start small! If you are new to checking out vintage, maybe start with something small.. like a home accent, or maybe a fun bangle. Something that wont, break your bank account, but will add a fun pop to your home or wardrobe! Take it home, wear it, and see how great it makes you feel 🙂

Go into each shop with an open mind. You never know what treasure you might find in there. If you absolutely love something, odds are, you will wear it with ease. Don’t be scared off my a small hole, or maybe the length of something. You can always take to a seamstress to have something hemmed or repaired.

Don’t get woo’d by a label. Just because it’s designer, doesn’t mean it will be right for your style. It’s happened to me before. I left a vintage shop in France with some Chanel pumps, really just because they were ridiculously affordable, and well… they were Chanel. However, I rarely wear them because the short quilted heel makes me feel like a 1950’s typewriter or something -lol! I do bust them out occasionally, but I never quite feel like myself when I wear them. You can find plenty of amazing things, that are super cool, without them being a designer you know.

Last, get what you love! If there is a necklace you can’t get over, and the price is right… get it!! You will kick yourself if you walk away from a great vintage find and then you can’t find it again.

How to Style Vintage:

A great rule of thumb is to pair a little old with a little new! Sounds easy enough right? Pair a band tee with a new stylish blazer, and maybe one of your vintage necklace finds.STU05241

Or bust out that brand new romper, but throw on a vintage ring to give your outfit some depth. Maybe you found a cool Bomber jacket. Throw it on with your favorite pair of jeans, a tee and sneakers, or maybe put it on with a trendy skirt and top, for a little edge.

The possibilities with vintage styling are endless. Have a little fun with it!
