How to pack, for an over-packer…

Recently, I had the chance to go to Vegas for a 3-day getaway (kid-free). For some reason, nothing excites my fashion-loving soul like a trip to pack for! I feel like a getaway is the perfect opportunity to dress a little more over-the-top than usual! That being said,  it makes it hard for me to narrow down exactly what I want to wear…. hence… the OVERPACKING!

Here is everything I wanted to stuff into my carry-on bags for my 3 day trip (not pictured.. 2 workout outfits, bluetooth speaker, purses and toiletries):

Here is how I did it:

  1. I pack my Away carry-on bag with shoes, toiletries, purses, jewelry, my speaker, and computer. Then I fill the mesh insert with my undergarments,  workout clothes and swimsuits, and strap it in. To save space I always tuck my socks into my sneakers.

  2. I use a Herschel Supply co. duffel for my “personal bag”. That is wear I put all of my clothes. The duffel fits a ton and can fit under the seat in front of you (however, doesn’t give you much leg room.. but I’m willing to stick it out in order to pack all of my clothes). There is a small side compartment, meant for shoes, but I keep a little bag with things that I may want to access on the plane, such as headphones, lipgloss, ibuprofen, etc.

  3.  Then I wore a fanny pack, yes… a fanny pack, with my cellphone, credit card and ID, and cash. That way I can easily access it 🙂 IMG_8158.jpg

Here is what I actually wore ;):

Now for the best part…. here are direct links to shop!

5 Spring Fashion Essentials

5 Spring Fashion Essentials

Spring is in full swing… (if only Mother Nature got that memo). There are so many fun new trends to work into your wardrobe once the weather starts cooperating. I’ve narrowed down my top 5 favorite staple pieces to feel fun and trendy for sunny days!!

  1. A circle bag (or at least thats what I call it)! These adorable handbags are everywhere you turn, and you can find them for great prices! Here are my favs:

    1. Under $45 at Nordstrom 2. This pom pom bag is too cute to pass up 3. The embroidery on this one is too fun! 4. The dark detail on this Rebecca Minkoff bag stands out, and who can pass up a tassel? 5. This bag is only $55 and goes with everything 6. The white on this bag is fresh, and classic looking!
  2. A great graphic tee! I am digging all the rock tees! A fun way to show your love of music, and look cute and edgy while doing so! Random fact: Jim Morrison from The Doors is my 3rd cousin.. maybe why I love them so much?

    1. Topshop 2. Free People 3. Free People 4. Revolve 5. Nordstrom 6. Wildfox Couture
  3. A comfy pair of slides! Slides are such a great way to have a little fun with print and color, or kick it old school with the adidas look!

    1. How can you go wrong with a classic pair of adidas slides (only $35)? 2. These fun metallic slides are from Target and only $18! 3. The stud accents on these ASOS slides are a party for your feet! 4. Same classic Adidas slides in white! 5. Y’all know by now that I’m obsessed with rainbows, so obviously these slides are my obsession.. 6. Can’t go wrong with camo , only $16!
  4. A good denim skirt. Dress it up with an off-the shoulder top and wedges, or throw it on with a rock tee and sneaks.. either way you get that trendy feel! All 4 of these skirts are under $60!!

TOP: This high waisted ASOS skirt is wallet friendly and adorable! Only $40! MIDDLE: this Free People skirt is mildly distressed and super cute! BOTTOM: I love the cute frayed hem on this skirt from Nordstrom! RIGHT: My fav denim skirt ever is from Free People! I love all the distressing!
  5. Last but definitely not least… a fun pair of sunnies! Why take yourself too seriously? Have a little fun with shape and color! (All under $20)
    1. Heart-shaped sunnies are a fun trend right now!! 2. Get a pair of round sunnies for a 70’s feel 3. Loving this fun shape, and they come in several colors 4. Another pair that get that fun 70’s vibe.

Kimono Crush

Kimono Crush

As soon as I saw this blush beauty at The Gypsy Wagon, I knew I had to have it. My favorite color combo this fall has been olive green and blush, and this Kimono has them both! Not to mention, it is only $44.  True story, I thought it was just a kimono, but its actually a wrap dress.. so that makes it even better because you can wear it 2 ways (score!). Their website is linked hereuntitled-5791

I paired it with a plain white tee, found at Zara for only $9.90. Exact shirt linked here.

The jeans I have on are one of my most comfortable pairs! They are high waisted (which I love) and are super stretchy, plus they are under $60!  I got these olive suede booties last year, but they are still a staple for me. I linked this year’s versions here: open-toe, closed toe.

My necklace is a few years old. I originally bought it at a trunk show. The designer has a website now, filled with amazing affordable pieces. I link a similar necklace of hers here.

The bracelets pictured are CA Jewelry, made right here in TX! They have so many fun pieces! My arrow bracelet is linked here, and Tassel bracelet here.

My olive green handbag was purchased during the Nordstrom sale! I found almost the exact bag (same color.. different quilting) on Nordstrom’s site for 40% off here!!

Happy Shopping! 🙂

Olive Green and Cinnamon Jeans

Olive Green and Cinnamon Jeans

Hello friends! Just wanted to share this everyday, easy, casual outfit with you. For my day-to-day style, I go for comfort. This olive green button up is light weight, and has a loose-fit, perfect for the casual-comfort seeker! I found this top at Cotton Island, a boutique here in Dallas, but I have linked it (ON SALE) for you here.

I paired the top above with these cinnamon-colored distressed jeans, aviators and some of my favorite slides. These Modern + Soul slides are made by two local, insanely stylish mamas, which makes me love these shoes even more! Check out their website, and all their amazing shoes here.

I also linked some similar jeans for you ( mine are sold out 🙁 ) and my sunnies! As for my bag choice… I use this tote bag on the daily because I can fit my whole life in it. There is no telling what you may find in this bag… definitely the typical things you find in a diaper bag (complete with crunches up baby snacks and milk spills), but also random trinkets that the girls stuff in there, like cat ears.. socks.. shopkins. You name a small kid item, and I probably have it stuffed somewhere in my bag 😉 Anyways, I linked some great carry all totes for y’all here and here!

Happy Wednesday friends! xoxo,
